star of wonder The Ven. Mary Lee Wile serves as Archdeacon for Formation and Continuing Education in the Episcopal Diocese of Maine. She is the author of the theological novel Ancient Rage, as well as the program books I Will with God's Help, Christ's Own Forever, and This Bread and This Cup. Two-time writer for Forward Day by Day (Jan. 2004 and March 2007), Mary Lee also served two years as a guest columnist for the Portland Press Herald. She lives with her husband in coastal Maine.

Her niece, Sage Stossel, who illustrated the book, is a contributing editor at the Atlantic and a regular contributor of cartoons to the Boston Globe, The, and elsewhere. Her cartoons have been featured by the New York Times Week in Review, CNN Headline News, Best Editorial Cartoons of the Year, and other venues. Her children's book On the Loose in Boston was published in 2009. The second in the series, On the Loose in Washington, D.C., was published in May 2013.
